lead pastor - Rev. jeff jakes

Pastor Jakes was born and raised in upstate New York in a Christian home and embraced Christ as his Savior at a young age. He attended Florida Southern College (‘83-’87) and graduated with a degree in Business Administration, but more importantly he met his beloved wife Katie. Upon graduation, Jeff and Katie married and moved to the metropolitan New York City area where Jeff worked in midtown Manhattan and Katie taught at a Christian school.

In 1989, Jeff and Katie relocated to central Florida to start their family. Jeff left the business world in 1992 to pursue God’s calling to full-time ministry in student ministry. During his time in student ministry, Jeff attended seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary and achieved a Master of Divinity degree. After ten fruitful years in student ministry, God called him to a lead pastor role in 2002. Jeff served at a PCA church for over 26 years before planting King’s Chapel in 2019.

Jeff and Katie have four grown children and four grandchildren. God has gifted Jeff with the ability to clearly preach the good news of the Gospel while possessing a shepherd’s heart that truly loves his flock. He calls King’s Chapel his greatest joy in ministry.
